Recycling carbon fibers (rCF) for reuse is one approach to improve the sustainability of CFRP. However, until now, recycled fiber plastics (rCFRP) had limited composite properties due microgeometry fibers, which made it difficult use in load-bearing components. The production hybrid yarns from rCF and PA6 allows be aligned. geometric yarn individual influence mechanical composite. An modeling simulation consisting thermoplastic presented. unit cell geometry modeled form a stochastic network. trajectory helical curves using idealized model Hearle et al. variability (e.g., length) included statistical distributions. additional compaction step ensures realistic geometry. created validated geometrically by comparison with tensile tests manufactured composites. With model, multiple parameter studies investigating are carried out.
